A message from President David Van Zandt

NYC experienced a horrible act of violence today. We at The New School stand in sorrow for lives lost and those injured; we stand in gratitude to those who responded; and we stand strong with our fellow New Yorkers who will not cow to terrorism.

The safety and security of The New School community is our highest priority. We will continue to monitor information and follow guidance from the NYPD. We have no information about additional threats to New York City.

All classes, activities, and university operations continue. As an academic community, we have much to learn, to teach, and to do to contribute to peaceful society and positive change.
