Sign an online pledge to support climate action

Find out if your Governor, Mayor, Congressperson, Senator, etc. support the Paris Agreement. If they haven’t come out in favor of the agreement, contact them to voice your support.

Do some research and vote with your dollars

Find out which companies advocated for staying in the Paris Agreement, and which urged Trump to leave the accord. Then decide whether you still want to support those companies by purchasing their goods or services.

Make small changes in your day-to-day habits to reduce your personal contributions to climate change.

  • Reduce emissions — skip the taxi and walk, bike, or take the subway.
  • Save energy — turn off appliances when you’re not using them, adjust your thermostat, and replace burnt out lightbulbs with LEDs.
  • Reduce — consume less, purchase items with less packaging.
  • Reuse — carry a reusable mug, water bottle, and tote bag. Get crafty and repurpose your old stuff.
  • Recycle — be sure to sort your waste correctly and recycle what you cannot reuse.
  • If possible, strive for a low-carbon diet.
  • If possible, reduce your meat consumption—livestock are one of the largest greenhouse gas emitters. (Consider trying Meatless Monday!)
  • If possible, eat food that’s local and in season (take advantage of the Greenmarket in Union Square.)
  • If possible, avoid excess packaging and processed foods.
